Thermal Aerial Analysis

See What the
Naked Eye Can't.

Radiometric thermal drone inspections for commercial roof moisture surveys, solar panel diagnostics, and building envelope analysis. Conducted by a Level I Certified Thermographer. Anomalies identified, flagged on the imagery, and documented in a written report.

What We Do

Three Core Inspection Types.

Each thermal inspection is paired with a visual photo so anomalies can be located and verified on the actual asset.

Commercial Roof Moisture

Detects trapped moisture under the membrane on flat commercial roofs — critical for warranty claims, maintenance prioritization, and pre-purchase inspections.

Solar Panel Diagnostics

Identifies failed cells, bypass diode issues, and module-level degradation across solar arrays — flagged with array coordinates.

Building Envelope

Heat loss surveys identifying air leakage at windows, parapet walls, and joints — used for energy audits, retrofits, and LEED documentation.

Radiometric Output

Every pixel is a temperature reading. Anomalies measured in °F or °C, with thresholds reported in the deliverable.

Written Inspection Report

Anomalies catalogued, location-tagged, and prioritized. Branded PDF report suitable for insurance, warranty, or maintenance work orders.

Pre/Post Documentation

Pre-repair and post-repair thermal scans verify that contractors actually fixed the flagged issues.

Why Thermal Matters

The Cost of Not Knowing.

A leaking commercial roof costs $2-8 per square foot to replace prematurely if moisture damage is missed early. A failed solar string can knock 5-15% off an array's output for years before anyone notices on the inverter readout. A poor building envelope wastes thousands annually on heating and cooling.

A thermal inspection takes 60-90 minutes on-site and costs a fraction of any one of those problems. We deliver findings within five business days.

Process

How an Inspection Works

Pre-Flight Intake

Property address, roof or array specs, target conditions (we fly during peak thermal contrast — typically dawn or dusk).

Flight Day

Radiometric thermal camera + visual reference camera flown at controlled altitude. Single visit for most properties.

Analysis

Imagery reviewed by certified pilot. Anomalies measured against ambient and adjacent temperatures, location-tagged on a site map.

Report Delivery

Branded PDF with executive summary, photo evidence, prioritized findings, and recommended action items. 5-day turnaround.

FAQ

Common Questions

When is the best time to fly thermal?
Highest contrast is during the cool-down period after sunset, or pre-dawn before the sun warms the surface. We schedule based on weather and target — solar arrays are best mid-day under load; roof moisture is best after-hours.
What's the difference between thermal and infrared?
Same physics. We use radiometric thermal cameras — every pixel records actual temperature in °F or °C, not just relative warm/cool color mapping. This lets us measure and document anomaly severity, not just spot it.
Can you do interior thermal scans?
Drone work is exterior only. For interior thermal (e.g., HVAC duct loss, electrical panel scanning), we partner with ground-based thermographers. Ask us for a referral.
Do you provide repair estimates?
No — we identify and document. Repair scope and pricing are best estimated by the contractor or roofer who will perform the work. Our reports are detailed enough for them to write an accurate proposal.
Will the report stand up to insurance review?
Reports are dated, signed by an FAA Part 107 certified pilot, with documented methodology. Many insurers and warranty programs accept them. We can format to a specific carrier's requirements on request.
